Client Director
Permanent, Full Time
Salary: up to £80,000 + company bonus
Working: Monday to Friday, 9am to 5pm (with some flexibility available)
Location: Leeds (Hybrid) 2 days office, 3 days working remote/client travel

As part of our exciting growth trajectory, we’re now building out our Client Director teams; tasked with developing and implementing strategic plans for new client wins; where you own the strategic relationship combined with proactively unlocking and identifying growth opportunities within your dedicated account base.
What you’ll do:
Architect Growth: Develop long-term strategic plans that align brand objectives with the fast-evolving Retail Media landscape.
Innovate & Pilot: Stay at the forefront of Retail and FMCG trends; you’ll pilot new retail technologies and media solutions to keep your clients ahead of the competition.
Expand the Footprint: Identify high-impact upsell opportunities across media services and projects to drive sustainable revenue growth.
Trusted Advisor: Act as a strategic consultant for senior Retail and FMCG stakeholders, providing the confidence to challenge the status quo and recommend bold new directions.
Retail Networker: Build powerful connections across the Smollan group and the wider retail ecosystem to ensure seamless, cross-functional delivery.
Drive Profitability: Oversee the financial health of your accounts, from precise forecasting to identifying margin-improving initiatives that benefit both the agency and the client.
Optimised Delivery: Lead the execution of complex campaigns and media sales, ensuring internal creative and insight teams are perfectly synced with the client’s retail cycle.
Develop Top Talent: Lead and mentor a high-performing team of account specialists, fostering a culture of collaboration and "Great Place to Work" values.
Champion Excellence: Set the bar for operational standards, ensuring your team is motivated, well-trained, and focused on delivering world-class client service.
What You’ll Bring:
Retail Media Expertise: Deep knowledge of the Retail/FMCG landscape and how to leverage media to influence shopper behaviour.
Strategic Growth: A track record of transforming high-value accounts through long-term planning and consultative "white space" upselling.
Commercial Acumen: Full P&L confidence, including accurate forecasting, budget management, and margin improvement.
Senior Influence: The "gravitas" to advise C-suite stakeholders and the courage to challenge the status quo with data-backed insights.
People Leadership: Proven ability to lead, mentor, and scale high-performing account teams in a fast-paced agency environment.
Operational Agility: Experience syncing creative, data, and tech teams to deliver complex projects on time and on brief.
